This photo was published today by my hometown newspaper The Courier in Findlay, Ohio (www.thecourier.com). It was taken this past weekend along South Main Street in Findlay. To the best of my knowledge, this furry chocolate-lover is a real squirrel, and not a child in a Halloween costume.
What a cute little guy... thanks Br. Francis for posting this lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of my own special squirrel-encounter!
I was in London for the New Year season 2007, and stayed at the very nice hotel "The Montague On The Gardens" in the Bloomsbury area.
Close to the hotel is a small park where I used to go for walks in the morning, and where many squirrels have taken up residence.
On one of my walks there I was approached by a lovely little squirrel, who came running toward me and didn't stop before it literally stood on top of my shoe!
And there it just kept standing, looking up at me with blinking dark eyes and "hands" folded on its chest.
I couldn't believe what I was experiencing, but I just stood very still and thoroughly enjoyed the moment.
Eventually the squirrel jumped down from my foot but as I continued my walk, it kept coming back to me in between exploring the area. It followed me to the entrance of the park, and there it sat looking after me as I went back to the hotel.
I will never in my life forget my squirrel. It was a truly wonderful experience... perhaps a kind "morning-message" from above!
Tulle.
