God who created man out of love
also calls him to love--
the fundamental and innate vocation
of every human being.
For man is created in the image
and likeness of God
who is himself love.
Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1604
I'm looking for a scripture quote that I think is from one of St. Paul's letters that says that we were created out of love and created to love. Could you tell me the source of your quote? It sounds so similar to mine. Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteHello Judy,
DeleteThe passage quoted in the blog post is from The Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1604. I'm not aware of any specific Scripture passage that uses the particular phrase "created out of love to love," though there are certainly many places in Scripture where that meaning could be inferred. One of them is 1John 4:7-21.
Hope that helps.
